In a previous life, she was known as Sati, the beloved daughter of King Daksha, and she became the wife of Lord Shiva. Reborn as the daughter of Shailraj Himalaya, she assumed the name Shailputri, signifying her connection to the mountains. She is also known by other names, such as Parvati and Hemvati. Once again, Shailputri joined in holy matrimony with Lord Shankar, becoming his eternal companion, mirroring their bond from her earlier existence.
